The Rev’s latest release, Supramundane Blues, is a collection of thirteen Rocking Spiritual Blues songs inspired by the psychedelic holy quest with tunes that run the gamut of styles from Delta Blues to Americana, Soul, Modern Jam Band, Fun, and Rock & Roll. The album also includes a bonus disc of the Psychedelic Trip-Hop Mass that will test your musical sensibilities and your classic rock knowledge, as well as provide you with some healing sounds to help you get through these tough times and prepare you for what is yet to come. Upon finding the world in the Pandemic Blues, the Rev decided to cast his gaze back into the abyss and confront the confusion sonically. Reverend Freakchild, now sober and in recovery, has directed his musical ministry to help him make sense of this sonic spirituality for the legions of new and old psychedelic warriors.

“After the global catastrophe that was 2020, I never thought that my favorite album coming out post-apocalypse would be a “religious” offering. Yet, here we are. Supramundane Blues by Reverend Freakchild is one that I’ll be listening to again and again. It’s a combination of all I love in the blues world and then some. I’ll go out on a limb and bet a nickel that it will be one of your favorites as well!”

The Psychedelic Trip-Hop Mass celebrates the ever amazing nature of the human spirit and the recurring perineal spring of our revolving planet. Reverend Freakchild’s Psychedelic Trip-Hop Mass interpolates and musically un-concretizes spirituality, enlisting traditional Christian litergy, Buddhist ideas and classic Rock & Roll mythology to paint a new sonic landscape and point to the true appearance-emptiness of enlightenment.  A surreal sound collage of sampledelia - from Igor Stravinsky to Stevie Wonder and a plethora of other sounds such as and from the likes of Bach, the Beatles, Pink Floyd, Billie Holiday, Bob Marley, Frank Zappa, Gustav Mahler and the Dalai Lama.  The cacophony of sonic offerings provide blessings to forgive everyone, fear not, and find peace everywhere.  The guiding shamanic voice of her majesty Reverend Galaxy’s original organic poetry invites one through the beautiful confusion, like Vigil leading Dante through the inferno, to a sense of gratitude and rejuvenation despite the chaos!  Be forewarned you might not understand this ‘religious’ offering but it will most definitely provide liberation through hearing and change your life. Hallelujah - Amen!

Supramundane Blues features many like-minded musicians, artists and poets that joined the Rev on his mission of making sense of his past psychedelic visions, including guitarist Mark Karan (RatDog), drummer Chris Parker (Aretha Franklin, Donald Fagen, Quincy Jones, Brecker Brothers), percussionist Jason Hann (String Cheese Incident), producer and multi-instrumentalist Hugh Pool, keyboardist and musical engineer extraordinaire Steve Sirockin, Malcolm “The Minister of Bass” Oliver, the poet Her Majesty Reverend Galaxy aka Valerie A.
